In partnership with the Center of Andean Freedoms, participate in a 7-day volunteer project based around community development or education depending on your interests and the community’s needs at the time of your trip. Afterwards, explore Ecuador’s spectacular Andean interior and the Amazon lowland with three days of action packed adventure. Join us on this unique adventure with the opportunity to giveback to a local community and experience true cultural immersion.

Trip Overview

Day 1:Inte rnational Flight – Quito

Private transfer from Airport to Hotel in Quito

Day 2: Quito scenic tour – Riobamba

Discover Quito, surrounded by impressive hills and mountains, the city is known for its treasures of Colonial housing, churches, sculptures and carvings, visit this urban jewel, designated by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site.

Transfer to Riobamba in order to start the Volunteer program

Day 3 - 7: Volunteer Program

Participate in the University of San Francisco de Quito’s Center for Andean Freedoms unique volunteer programs. Work alongside the staff from INTISISA a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), on projects related to Cultural and Ethnic anthropology, Gender Leadership, Environmental Management and Education, and Community Health and Nutrition. These culturally-intensive programs take place in the high Andean town of Guamote or surrounding mountain villages with indigenous people.

After an intense week of volunteer work you will be rewarded with 3 days of adventure and adrenaline.

Day 8: Riobamba – Baños

Whitewater rafting with limitless views of the Andean mountains and the Amazon Rainforest.

Day 9: Baños – Cotopaxi

Cycling in the Patate cloudforest

Day 10: Cotopaxi National Park - Quito

Horseback riding up the slopes of Rumiñahui volcano

Day 11: Quito

Day off in Quito for shopping and exploring

Day 12: Quito – International flight

Transfer out Quito from hotel to airport
