Shawn Stratton has dedicated the last 10 years of his life to working in Outdoor Education. He has led expeditions from two weeks to three months with many different organizations throughout the world.As a senior instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), and a "Leave No Trace" Master Educator, Shawn has accumulated over 160 weeks of planning and leading backcountry expeditions. Over that time, he has instructed mountaineering, backpacking, sea kayaking, and white water canoeing.
Shawn obtained his Degree in Recreation Management with a specialization in experiential education from Dalhousie University is a Leave No Trace, Master Educator and it a certified Wilderness First Responder. In his free time, Shawn enjoys training and racing in triathlons and traveling to new locations near and far! Shawn considers leading a successful expedition up Mt. Logan (Canada's highest mountain) and completing over 25 triathlons as some of his greatest accomplishments. He grew up in St. John's, Newfoundland and now calls Vancouver, British Columbia home.
Shawn's work (and play) has allowed him to travel to some of the most pristine and remote wilderness locations in North America and around world, including Alaska, the Yukon, British Colombia, Newfoundland, Washington State, Baja Mexico, The Caribbean, Guatemala, New Zealand, Nepal, India, and Kenya.
Shawn's passion for travel, adventure, and working with participants comes alive at LiveMore Adventures. He believes that adventure travel, cultural interactions, service and learning through challenging experiences should play an integral roll in education.
